UK Brand Ambassador Rebecca Asseline embodies the passion at the heart of this cognac house.
Growing up in the South of France, Courvoisier was the only cognac you could find in her familyʼs house. Indeed, being a singer at the time, it became Rebeccaʼs ritual to enjoy a glass of Courvoisier XO before going on stage, as she found that concentrating on the taste of the precious liquid and its infinite number of aromas calmed her nerves and focused her mind before a performance.
Her years spent in this industry have given Rebecca a fascination for spirit maturation, mixology, the magic of food pairings and the sensory journey on which Courvoisier can take us. Her illustrious career has seen her travel through the world of luxury spirits, though her heart has always belonged to Courvoisier, and in particular to the perfectly balanced Courvoisier XO. Indeed, being the cognac she always loved, tasted and shared with friends, Rebecca considers working for Courvoisier to be a genuine privilege; as she says, “I am amongst those lucky people whose work is also their passion.”
This role has seen her work with premium London destinations The Savoy, The Connaught and The Ritz, amongst many others, communicating her passion for the alchemic cognac-making process. Rebecca has further taken the pioneering Le Nez de Courvoisier programme, a unique sensorial initiative designed to tie the rich notes found in Courvoisier cognac back to the cognac-making process itself, across the UK, which has allowed her to discover and draw on new ways to bring the liquid and its aromatic qualities to life through different sensory stimuli.
